My decision to pursue a career as a therapist stem from my own life experiences, as well as those of people I care about. I have observed individuals struggling with various challenges, such as anxiety, depression, questions of sexuality, life changes, identity concerns, family integration, separation, and low self-worth. Too often, they avoid seeking professional guidance due to inaccessibility, unease, limited resources, and insufficient support networks.
Having personally navigated the need for assistance without finding readily available, relatable support, I empathize with the difficulty of reaching out. Therefore, I have made it my personal commitment to transform the perception of therapy, fostering a more inclusive and encouraging environment.
When I am not in my therapist role, I often enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, baking, and cooking traditional cuisines. I have direct clinical experience in counseling individuals, families, and couples with a range of presenting concerns and goals.
I offer include CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma Informed, Culturally Sensitive, Motivational Interviewing, Humanistic, and Person-Centered, Mindfulness Based, and Strength Based approach. I believe therapy is a collaborative, team effort. I take this approach while working to create a safe and inclusive environment for my clients. I actively thrive to maintain an inviting and nonjudgmental space regardless of one’s identity, gender, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, and depth to the concerns that they are facing.
I believe that counselling should be a space of comfort and authenticity, where everyone should be treated respectfully and compassionately. My training allows me to live in a position of awareness of social barriers, power and privilege, diversity, strengths and challenges. My training enables me to be mindful of societal obstacles, power dynamics, privilege, diversity, strengths, and difficulties. I am looking forward to connecting with you for a consultation call and supporting your recovery journey.
