Group counselling

Group counselling

The idea of participating in group therapy may be intimidating at first. Understandably, no one wants to share their sad experiences with strangers. Once you overcome the initial reluctance to join group counselling, you are most likely to be surprised with the positive outcomes.

Group therapy offers an opportunity to heal with others going through similar difficulties. It gives you the assurance that you are not alone in your struggles, which usually helps to reduce feelings of shame and self-blame.

Group therapy is suitable for people interested in learning new life skills and/ or are feeling alone in their healing journey. If you can relate with others going through similar struggles and are open to learn from their experiences, if you are someone who appreciates feedback and validation, group therapy may be a good option for you.

In addition to providing a supportive community, groups promote social skills and cost less than individual sessions.    Healing within a group reminds us of our common humanity.
