About
Hello and Welcome to voice to heart
I am glad you found your way here! I’d like to offer you a warm welcome and introduce myself. I am Viviane. I am a clinical social worker and psychotherapist practicing in Ontario, Canada.
For the past 10 years I have been working as a clinical social worker in a mental health hospital in Toronto, helping clients to identify and to change maladaptive behaviors, self-defeating thinking patterns and ineffective emotional responses that prevent people from maintaining fulfilling relationships and happiness.
I work collaboratively with clients by encouraging them to engage in introspective self awareness while using self-compassion and curiosity to understand why they behave in a certain way. In this process, emotional intelligence is strengthened, and clients become response-able – (that is, able to choose how to respond to a high intense situation as opposed to impulsively reacting to it) to better manage daily life challenges.
I know it takes a lot of courage to seek help and I feel honoured to be part of my clients’ self-exploratory journey. I believe that each person is the expert of their own life, and I am keen to support clients finding their own answers to their life’s challenges.
I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and Ontario Association of Social Workers. I received my bachelor’s degree in social work from Toronto Metropolitan University and Master of Social Work degree from Windsor University. In addition, I completed training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Processing therapy and Mindfulness.
On a personal note, I enjoy being in contact with nature and going on hiking trips with my husband both in Canada and abroad.
